Not all tiredness is the same.
Some of it comes from doing what you were actually called to do, and that kind of tired sleeps well. But there is another kind, the exhaustion of managing outcomes that were never yours, of being responsible for how other people feel, of holding a world together that has a different foundation than you.
Jesus does not offer rest to people who are doing nothing. He offers it to people who are laboring. The invitation assumes the effort. What He is proposing is a change in what you carry, not whether you carry anything.
So the useful question today is not how do I do less. It is: which of these weights did You actually hand me, and which did I pick up on my own?
Put down the second kind. You will be surprised how much strength you have for the first.
