You can probably still quote something someone said to you twenty years ago. It may have taken them four seconds to say.
Words last. They lodge somewhere and keep transmitting long after the moment is forgotten by everyone but the person carrying them. Most of us know this from the receiving end and forget it entirely from the speaking end.
Scripture treats speech as unusually weighty, a small rudder steering a large ship, a spark capable of a forest fire. Not because words are magic, but because they shape how people understand themselves.
Someone in your life is currently operating on a sentence someone else said carelessly. You could displace it this week with a truer one.
Be specific. Say the good thing out loud instead of assuming it is obvious. It costs four seconds and it can last two decades.
